Since I watched the first video "just call" Sherrick touched strong in my heart, his talent and his voice impressed me, I bought the only vinyl album released in Brazil, and I have the 12" 45 rpm mix( ordered in gemms.com)....since this time I´ve trying collect something else about Sherrick, I´d like to get his video music, I have only a VHS not in good quality.

I just found out that Sherrick passed away in 1999 via another site, Simply terrible. I was listening to JazzFM in the car recently and heard the unmistakable intro to 'Just call'. It brought back some really great memories for me from the late eighties. A British DJ called Tony Blackburn used to have a really excellent Soul show in the morning ( I think in was on Radio London - can't remember) and played this track alot. It blew me away, what unbelievable talent - sublime vocals and bassline - just excellent. The world has lost a really really great talent.

I first saw Sherrick many years ago in a video of "Just Call", and I was immediately impressed by his voice and his presence. I thought to myself - "Man, this guy is going to be a huge star!"
I always wondered what happened to him until I came across this site. I am terribly saddened by his passing, and my heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to his loved ones. However, I am extremely thankful that he graced our lives with his magnificent talent.
For everyone who posted here who asked about the CD - there is a Japanese import version available on Amazon.com. However, it is expensive to say the least, and it only comes in a sleeve like an LP instead of a CD jewel case. Just do a search for "Sherrick" in the music store and it will come up. You may also want to check on Amazon Marketplace or Ebay for used copies that surface from time to time.
We love you Sherrick and may you rest in peace.

As a teenager I've always had an ear for the type of music that my peers weren't really into. Besides the fact that our names are similiar, I found Sherrick's vocal talents to be one of my favorites. This site is such a treat to those of us who are Sherrick fans. I pray that God will continue to strenghten his family and that Sherrick is singing in heaven with the angelic chorus.

Only got hold of his Warner Brothers LP recently. 'Just Call' was the track that reeled me in. His vocals on 'Baby I'm For Real' are amazing. I hope the stuff he recoded before he died sees the light of day. His WB LP has just been released on CD (Nov 2004). Sherrick R.I.P.

"Just Call" was the first call-in request that I ever made on air to a raio station in Norfolk. VA in 1987 while in the Navy. The brother had some serious pipes, and a great debut album. I didn't know of his troubles until this week, and can only pray that God has given him and his family some peace at last. A talent taken from us far early.

I have been a Sherrick fan since 1987. There was no good music being made at the time in my opinion, and a friend of mine that worked in a record store recommended this tape to me. I had never heard of the artist, but my friend said it was very good. Well, good was an understatement. I wore that tape out!! I have since tried to purchase Sherrick's work on CD, but have had no luck so far. I would occasionally find an MP3 and download a song or 2. I would listen with a smidge of disappointment because Sherrick only made the one album. I found out only yesterday that he passed away in 1999, now my disappointment has moved to sadness and heartbreak when I hear this man's amazing voice and know that we won't have any new songs from him. I would like to let his family know how deeply sorry I am for their loss and that we, his fans will always remember him as an extremely gifted singer/songwriter. May God bless you and keep you.

I love his voice. In the mode of David Ruffin and Marvin Gaye. I fist heard his music whiles stationed in Okinawa Japan, Kadena AFB. He forever left a mark on my heart with his talent. It is hard for me to believe he is gone. He is truly on of the greats and I hope someone gets his music the credit and exposer it deserves. If there is anyway to buy his work please let me know. Simply a strong vocal artist!
It was amazing to discover this artist with this kind of funky sound like the 80's, out in 1987
The R&B sound was very poor during this time
Except with Mister SHERRICK!!!

I've had the first album on cassette for ages now and still play it in the car...it rules!
